Built an NPD Launch Tracker giving the team real-time pipeline visibility

I interned at Flair Writing Industries looking to help them develop new products and brainstorm design ideas. However, in just the first week I realised that they didn't have a good ERP system. Status updates on new products lived in WhatsApp threads, random Excel files, and people’s memory. If someone needed to know whether ZooMate’s packaging had been approved, they’d have to message the right person, or call them and wait, and half the time that person was in a meeting.

So that's why I built the NPD Launch Tracker, because that friction was costing the team real time on every single product, every week. The NPD process has six stages (vendor, packaging, sampling, costing, production, launch), and there was no single place where you could see where any product actually stood across all of them at once.

The tracker is a lightweight internal tool that lives at one link. It shows the whole pipeline in real time: what’s moving, what’s blocked, what’s past its launch date, and what’s coming up next month. There’s a dashboard for the high-level view, a full product table with filters, a bottlenecks page that automatically surfaces whatever’s stuck, and a launch calendar so leadership has a roadmap without having to ask anyone for it.

I designed it specifically around Flair’s constraints: no training required, no new workflow imposed, nothing to install. It’s meant to make what the team already does just more visual and accessible. When it’s connected to Google Sheets as a backend, anyone on the team can update it in real time without anyone having to own the maintenance.
