The Floating Bubble

Hot Air ballooning

This is a snapshot I took 500 meters above ground in the Masai Mara reserve, Kenya. Hot air ballooning – a once in a lifetime opportunity, is totally worth waking up at 5 am in the morning. After a 1 hour ride to the ballooning grounds, we hop in the basket and the burner heats the air inside which slowly leads us to float above almost weightlessly under the influence of wind. The best part was the picturesque view that was bestowed before us. Endless green grasslands stretching for kilometers and the bright blue cloudless sky turning hues of yellow and orange as the sun rises. The first picture includes another hot air balloon flying with us but in the second shot, you can see the silhouetted shadow of our own balloon.

During our flight, we also saw various animals including elephants, jackals, giraffes, buffalos, cheetahs, and other African beauties. This picture still reminds me of the wonderful memories I had when I visited Kenya.
